Through a string of different events, we ended up meeting a fellow who
owns 5 Boyd auto body shops. One thing led to another and in no time we
were in talks about building him a 57 Belair golf cart to match his real
57 Belair. He already had the body for the cart that he had been
hauling around for several years, but never got to getting it together.
He had an old Yamaha frame that he wanted it built on, but after
checking into it we discovered that it was built for a DS cart, and with
a bit of convincing we were able to get him to agree on using a DS.

Here is his real Belair, this is what we are going to be using as a basis for the design if you want to see all the details on the real 57 build, check out his website www.ak57chevy.com |

Here is the donor cart, 2003 DS electric, we will converting to a gas cart |
|
Even got the man himself, working on his own cart! |
|
Body removed |
|
More parts for the used cart section |
|
Fitting the Belair body on to see what we have for clearance |
|
Here's where the ride height will be, you can see how much we have to bring the rear suspension up to get it centered in the wheel. |
|
Here are the rims we will be using, they are virtually an identical match to his real Belair rims. Awesome! |
